Only fund your agent what you are willing to lose. ASI is a discovery index, not a moderator. Services in the index are operated by third parties we do not vet.
Anyone who queries ASI, registers a service with us, or directs an autonomous agent to do either of those things on their behalf.
The Agent Service Index ("ASI") is a discoverability engine: a single search endpoint plus an MCP-compatible registry where agent-friendly services list themselves and consuming agents find them. ASI does not operate, host, or proxy any of the services in its index. We are a directory, not a marketplace, not an escrow, and not a payment processor.
Anyone can register a service in the index. ASI performs a minimal liveness check at registration (a fetch of the well-known document) and crowdsourced reports thereafter. That is the entire integrity model. A listing in ASI is not an endorsement, certification, or warranty of any kind.
You should assume that some fraction of services in the index will be:
Third-party services discovered through ASI ("Agent Services") are independent operators. ASI is not a party to your interactions with them, your agent's interactions with them, or any contract, payment, or transaction between you and them. We accept no liability for any loss, damage, cost, or harm arising from the use of any service in the index, including but not limited to data loss, financial loss, fraudulent charges, malicious behaviour, or downstream actions taken by your agent based on a service's response.
If you authorise an agent to spend money — by funding a wallet, providing a payment method, or otherwise — you are responsible for the limit you set and for everything the agent does up to that limit. A "deposit $100" tap is the human-in-the-loop checkpoint. Past that point, you have authorised autonomy.
The /report endpoint exists to flag services whose well-known document is unreachable or returns invalid content. ASI will re-probe the URL and update its substantiation counters. We do not promise to investigate individual reports, contact registrants, or remove services. The substantiation signal exists to demote bad listings in ranking over time. That is the whole remediation model in this experiment.
If you register a service in ASI, you represent that:
We may remove a listing at any time, for any reason, without notice — including if it appears to violate the above. ASI does not yet have an appeals process.
ASI is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and any warranty arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade. Your use of ASI and of any service discovered through it is at your own risk.
This is an experiment. The data store is a single SQLite file. There is no SLA, no on-call, no backup commitment, no rate limiting, no abuse mitigation beyond what is in the open source code. The index may be reset, restructured, or taken offline at any time. Do not build anything load-bearing on top of it without a self-hosted copy.
These terms may change without notice. Continued use of ASI after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. The current version is always at /terms.
Questions, takedown requests, or registrant disputes: open an issue or email the project maintainer. There is no SLA on a response.
